Work expands to fill the time available for its completion.

  • Definition: Limit the amount of time allocated to a task in order to complete it more efficiently.
  • Examples:
    1. A project manager sets a strict two-week deadline for completing a report, ensuring that the team focuses and avoids unnecessary delays.
    2. A small business owner sets a 30-minute time block each day to respond to emails instead of letting it take up the entire morning.
    3. A web designer limits website revisions to a two-day review period, forcing the client and team to provide timely feedback and make decisions faster.
